Troop NewsMarch 5, 2011
Castlewood State Park, Ballwin, MO

A large group of 15 scouts and 10 adults hiked the 3 1/4 mile River Scene Trail at Castlewood State Park. It was raining as we drove to the park. The ground at the park was soggy from the 1 - 2 inches of rain we had just received overnight. Once at the park the rain stopped. The temp was about 40 degrees, the sky cloudy and the air damp. Still the hike was a success and enjoyed by most. (Click on read more below for more photos and text.)

Troop News January 23, 2011
West Tyson County Park

7 scouts and 6 adults braved the snowstorm Sunday morning and were rewarded with an excellent hike through the snow covered hills of West Tyson Park. We hiked about 5 miles on the Chubb Trail. This trail is rated difficult and the 5” snowfall made it even more challenging. Halfway through our hike we stopped and prepared a hot lunch of chicken and noodles. Hot chocolate was also enjoyed by all. After lunch we continued about a ¼ mile on the Flint Quarry Trail and then stopped and returned the same way we came.
